Dan is the founder of Kobaly Mayes and is the acting patriarch of the organization. A Veteran of the Armed Forces, he spent 10 years flying F-4 Phantom fighter jets for the Air Force and the California Air National Guard and worked for 3 years at the China Lake Naval Weapons Center on the original Navstar GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) system. Dan has been a college professor in Computer Science and worked for 14 years in corporate and municipal accounting at the City of Palm Springs and Eisenhower Medical Center.
Dan Kobaly has been in the tax business since 1990, and has been specializing in travel nurse tax preparation since 1995. As an expert of tax issues as they pertain to healthcare travelers, Dan has written countless tax articles for HealthCare Traveler magazine and Locum Life magazine. He holds a Bachelors degree in Math with Computer Science from the University of California at Riverside, and has done extensive postgraduate work at the University of Southern California. Dan is an Enrolled Agent and licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service.
Chad Mayes is the principal of Kobaly Mayes. He has been with Kobaly (now Kobaly Mayes) since the 2001 tax season and has prepared literally thousands of state and federal tax returns for travelers. Chad started off his career in the financial services industry as a stockbroker with a top ten national investment firm. For several years he served as a Financial Advisor advising clients about complex financial solutions to fit their financial planning needs.
Chad Mayes has been active in politics and public policy for well over a decade. He has worked as an intern for a former US Senator and is a veteran of numerous candidate and issue campaigns. An elected official in his own right, Chad Mayes currently serves as the Mayor of the Town of Yucca Valley, California. In this capacity, he has served on the boards of the San Bernardino Associated Governments and the League of California Cities.
Chad is a magna cum laude graduate of Liberty University’s School of Business and Government, holding a Bachelors Degree in Government. Chad Mayes is a California Registered Tax Preparer and once held the NASD designations of Series 7, 63 and 65 as well as a California Insurance License, (Life Agent and Variable Contracts).
